Visit by British High Commission
The representatives of British High Commission visited Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTRUHS) on December 12, 2012. The representatives interacted with the Medical, Dental, AYUSH, and Nursing students. The Commission also discussed with the Vice-Chancellor regarding exchange programs between Universities of United Kingdom and Dr. NTR UHS.
In continuation of the discussions, the Project Manager, South Indian British Council Division, Chennai sent proposals for exchange programs, i.e., in area of research, faculty exchange, or student exchange (short stay for 6 months for PhD students), between Dr. NTR UHS and the Universities of the United Kingdom.
International training centre
Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh Medical Graduates in USA (APMGUSA) established an International Training Centre at GMCANA Auditorium, Guntur Medical College, Guntur, which was inaugurated on January 27, 2013.
In this connection, a convention was organized and three scientific topics on Emergency Care were discussed. On January 24, 25, and 26, 2013, 40 doctors were given training in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) in the International Training Centre. It is the objective of the University to train graduates and postgraduates, faculty, and nursing and paramedical students in BLS, which will ultimately help save many lives by appropriate and prompt intervention by these skilled personnel.
Postgraduate entrance test
An entrance test for postgraduate courses in Dental and Medical streams of Dr. NTRUHS will be held in the month of March 2013.
